How to Set Up the Vertical Line Board + Bonus Training Videos

Thank you for your purchase of the Vertical Line Board. We’ve worked hard to design the perfect tool for perfecting those critical, game-defining fundamentals. With this training aid, you’ll master a variety of golf shots and hopefully start having a lot more fun on the golf course.

But first, let’s get you set up. Watch the video below or scroll drown to read the instructions.

How to Set Up Your Vertical Line Board

Positioning the Board

  1. Place the Vertical Line Board on the ground with the short edge facing the target. (It does not matter which short edge is closest to the target.)
  2. Position the Board so that the gray line points directly at the target line.

Anchoring the Board

If you are practicing on grass:

  1. Locate the three white tee holes along each of the long edges of the Board.
  2. If you’re right-handed, secure the Board against the turf by placing tees in the three holes on the edge that sits to the right of the target line.
  3. If you’re left-handed, secure the Board against the turf by placing tees in the three holes on the edge that sits to the left of the target line.

If you are practicing on a mat:

  • Follow the directions above, anchoring the Vertical Line Board with the Sure Grip Feet instead of tees. Note: You’ll need to push them through the tee holes from the underside of the Board so the Board sits on top of the Feet.

Anchoring the Bars

  1. Locate:
    1. 2 Ball Position Bars
    2. 1 Alignment Bar
  2. Prepare to position these Bars along the long edge of the Board that is not already secured with tees or Sure Grip Feet.

If you are practicing on grass:

  1. Pick up the Ball Position Bar featuring three different colored tee holes on one end.
  2. Locate the single tee hole at the opposite end of this Bar and slide it under the Board, aligning it with the tee hole closest to the target.
  3. This Ball Position Bar should run parallel to the short edge of the Board and perpendicular to the long edge of the Board.
  4. Place a tee through the aligned tee holes to anchor the Board and Bar in place.
  5. Pick up the second Ball Position Bar. This is the shortest of the three Bars.
  6. Slide the tee hole at the end of this Bar under the Vertical Line Board, aligning it with the tee hole on the center of the Board’s long edge. (Note: There is a tee hole at each end of this Ball Position Bar. It does not matter which one you secure to the Vertical Line Board.)
  7. Place a tee through the aligned tee holes to anchor the Board and Bar in place.
  8. Place a tee in the third tee hole on this edge of the Vertical Line Board.
  9. Pick up the Alignment Bar (the longest Bar) and lay it across the bottom end of both Ball Position Bars so that the tee holes at either end of the Alignment Bar line up with the tee holes* at the end of the Ball Position Bars.
  10. Place tees through these tee holes to secure the Alignment Bar and Ball Position Bars.

*You’ll notice that there are three different tee holes in the first Ball Position Bar: one red, one white, and one blue. Use the white tee hole if you want to set your feet up in a neutral position.

Right-Handed Golfers: Use blue to practice hitting a draw and use red to practice hitting a fade.

Left-Handed Golfers: Use blue to practice hitting a fade and use red to practice hitting a draw.

If you are practicing on a mat:

  • Follow the directions above, anchoring the Bars with the Sure Grip Feet instead of tees. Note: You’ll need to push them through the tee holes from the underside of the Board so the Board sits on top of the feet.

That’s it! Now your Vertical Line Board is all set up and you’re ready to start mastering those essential fundamentals.
